The mean value theorem is one of the application of derivatives and useful to understand the geometric nature of a curve in an interval. Before stating Mean value Theorem, we need to collect some basic information and theorem

Our next theorem is known as Mean Value Theorem . The Rolle’s Theorem is use to proof the Mean Value Theorem , but if one can see the other way, it is clear that Mean Value Theorem is a generalization of Rolle’s Theorem
Note that if f(a) = f(b) , then Mean Value Theorem is a generalization of Rolle’s Theorem .
